Overview
3D Generalists are equipped with a wide range of skills across disciplines in the production of 3D visual effects.
In this nine month program, students will be taught how to create 3D models, textures, lighting, rendering, and compositing for films and commercials. The program is taught with software Autodesk Maya and Photoshop.
Since 3D Generalist artists work closely with other artists such as animators, riggers, and concept artists, the mentors at iGene school of VFX technology also train students different aspects of the production pipeline, eye for detail, creativity, problem-solving nature, and the ability to collaborate with other departments to meet the client’s expectations.
Our comprehensive course not only covers the fundamentals of 3D Generalist, but also offers an additional one-month long training to learn Matchmove or Rotomation techniques, if interested. These skills enable individuals to accurately track the movement of objects on a camera, making it easier to composite computer-generated images with live-action footage. Moreover, these skills give individuals an edge in creating more realistic animations, improving overall image quality. Learning these skills opens up opportunities for artists to work on big-budget movies and TV shows that use extensive visual effects, resulting in a considerably more rewarding job in visual effects.
